Change user name on user profile.

Change user name on user profile.

If I need to change a user name within an existing profile what will happen to records that were created with the original user name. Will they merge together or will it be like two separate users?
TECHNICAL PART
In most places within the software the data linking the user to that item is the user id.
All past and current tickets and notes are attached to that user id, not the name. They will remain attached to the user account regardless of the username.
The ticket log uses the username to stamp the log at the time of the event. This will not change.
LEGAL PART
Changing a name is not recommended at all. 
WRONG SPELLING:
If a spelling name issue.  It would be better to change it, so documentation is all correct. Please send support@triagelogic.com the name change for historical purposes only.
